The Sacrament of Baptism

Baptisms are wonderful celebrations of life!  If you are a parent of a little one or an adult who has never been baptized, the ritual action with the symbols of water, oil and light remind us of the miracle of God's gift of life.

Infant baptisms are for children under the age of seven years old.  Parents may request baptism for their infant in the Catholic faith if one of the parents is Catholic.  Preparation for the sacrament is a one night session of information and education for the parents.  Please register for the preparation session by calling the parish office at 410-742-6443 or send your name and address to
parish@visitstfrancis.org. For more about infant baptism contact Jhastings@visitstfrancis.org.

Adult baptisms are for adults who have never been baptized in another Christian denomination.  Our process for an adult to become Catholic and be baptized is called our OCIA Process (previously known as RCIA) which stands for the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults.  Please
